Is it going to rain at the four Coldplay concerts in Barcelona?

There are only two days left for Coldplay's return to the Catalan capital. The group has chosen Barcelona as the first and only stop on their entire European tour and will do so on May 24, 25, 27 and 28 at the mythical Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. The British band hasn't visited Barcelona since 2016 and the fans are overjoyed to receive them at concerts that promise to be memorable.

The question that the more than 200,000 fans who will attend one of their concerts will ask themselves is whether or not the storm will spoil the party. The truth is that Catalonia is on a yellow alert for storms due to the DANA that threatens the community and that has brought this Monday —and will bring throughout this week— scattered rainfall and unstable weather.

According to the forecast of the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya (Meteocat), the week will be marked by cloudiness although on Wednesday, the first day of concerts, no precipitation is expected. However, the weather service forecasts rain for the second day of concerts and it could last all week. If the forecast does not change, the only day that it seems that the sky will give a truce will be Saturday.

Whether it rains or not, the storm will not prevent thousands of attendees from enjoying the band and the concert from taking place normally.

The Barcelona City Council has recommended using public transport or going on foot and in advance. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and it is recommended to arrive at Montjuïc "in advance and staggered" and check any news about the start of the performances on the Estadi Olímpic website and on the social networks of the Estadi, the Palau Sant Jordi and the promoter of the concerts.
