A Valencian pastry shop goes viral with its artisanal croissants weighing almost 4 kilos

El Horno de la Beata Inés, a family business located in Mareny de Sant Llorenç, a district of the Valencian town of Cullera, has become famous and viral on social networks for selling giant handmade croissants, which weigh almost four kilos and are decorated with all kinds of chocolates.

The manager of the oven, Moisés Iborra, assures EFE that this product is "the star" of the establishment and clarifies that, despite the volume of the sweet, what always takes precedence is quality, since its motto is based on customers "they come back", something that is only achieved if the product is good.

Iborra belongs to the fifth generation of bakers in the family and currently runs this company, which has 40 employees and in which his parents and brothers work. Even his children are starting to be bakers because, as she says, "this is like soccer players, who have to be there from a young age."

"We are lifelong bakers," he says, adding that the idea of making such a large croissant arose almost by chance about eleven or twelve years ago, and has become the most popular thing about this oven.

The reason is, according to Iborra, that behind this product is the "excitement" of those who buy it to surprise their family or friends, at a time when it is "very difficult to surprise people."

Furthermore, he considers that it is an "accessible" product for everyone, since one of these croissants costs 8.99 euros.

The most popular flavor is white and dark chocolate, but you can also find many other varieties, such as pistachio or kinder.
