A trio of cavas and a chocolate rose, the ideal gift for this Sant Jordi

In Sant Jordi, books and roses are non-negotiable. But why not make roses edible and delicious this year? And if we add to this a glass of cava to toast with friends and family, we can make this Sant Jordi unforgettable.

This is the idea that Gourmet La Vanguardia has had with its latest limited edition pack. It is a selection that includes three bottles of cava and a delicious chocolate rose made by the El Rosal workshop.

The cavas included in this pack are:

- Gran Reserva Josep Valls de Roger Goulart:

A proposal that stands out for its long aging on the lees, which gives it great personality and makes it one of the most intense, silky, harmonious and elegant sparkling wines from the centennial Sant Esteve Sesrovires winery. Roger Goulart is one of the first houses specialized in cavas in Spain and is characterized by using a mixture of native and foreign varieties.

The Gran Reserva Extra Brut Josep Valls is made with chardonnay, xarel lo, macabeo and parellada and after the second fermentation in the bottle, it is aged for 72 months. The result is a bright, fresh, silky and structured cava that is recommended to accompany fish, stews and light meats.

- Indomit Blanc de Noirs de Mascaró:

A cava made with the Garnacha grape variety from the Finca Mas Miquel vineyards, surrounded by forests that form small vine gardens and where nature expresses itself untamed.

The wine has hints of red fruits and is made using the traditional method with a second fermentation in the bottle, where it remains for at least 30 months. It is a dry, clean, full-bodied wine, full of nuances and, without a doubt, very original in its flavor, which reflects the wildest and most surprising side of Garnacha.

- Gran Reserva Brut Nature de Rovellats:

The most emblematic cava of this family winery, now in the hands of the 3rd generation of the Rovellats family.

It is a straw yellow cava with bright golden tones. On the nose, clean and powerful aromas are perceived, with notes of long aging on the lees, fruity and floral backgrounds reminiscent of fresh apples and almond blossom. On the palate, it is balanced, intense in flavors and round, with moderate acidity and good persistence.

It is well structured, dry, tasty and smooth, with an elegant and long finish on the palate that perfectly combines the aromas of fruit and aging.

For its part, the El Rosal workshop celebrates its tenth Sant Jordi with the creation of new packs with its famous chocolate and biscuit roses that highlight the value of the product and the social project.

The rose, both biscuit and chocolate, is made by hand in the centenary El Rosal workshop, which is part of the social project of the Alba Association. The product has two different presentations, pink with a stick or without a stick, and two different flavors, dark chocolate or strawberry.

In addition, for this year's Sant Jordi campaign, El Rosal has created 8 new jobs. Currently, the bakery employs 20 people, including biscuit makers, transporters, coordinators and monitors, of which 9 have disabilities and 6 are part of groups at risk of exclusion.

Likewise, El Rosal has launched the communication campaign "Estimar-te com la terra", with the intention of vindicating through the Rosal rose the love for the land and territory.

To do this, the workshop has created new package designs for the roses, with a cardboard box where the photographed product is shown and its handmade production and the social impact of the project are explained. These new presentations are available in both flavors.

Last year around 23,000 roses were produced and sold and this year they hope to reach 25,000 between red and black roses.

The roses can be purchased in some 80 stores throughout Catalonia and you can also find them in the aforementioned pack created by Gourmet La Vanguardia and which you can buy at www.gourmetlavanguardia.com or by calling 935 500 105.
