Why has the most handsome man in Italy decided to become a priest?

Edoardo Santini, an Italian who was only 21 years old, was clear that he wanted to dedicate his life to theater and dance, with the aim of becoming a star in his country. He pointed out ways. The young man began to be known after being chosen the most beautiful man in Italy in 2019, when he was 17 years old, in a contest organized by the ABE fashion group.

But Santini's life has taken a Copernican turn. This Italian has announced through his social networks that he will now entrust his life to the church. "At 21 years old I find myself on the path to being a priest, God willing," he explained, claiming to have entered a seminary near Florence.

"At 21 years old, my father made the decision to marry my mother because she was pregnant and my mother, at 21 years old, became a mother. And at the same age I am choosing my path," he says.

Santini makes this decision after several years in which he has been able to meet people who have "shown him what it means to be a church." Specifically, last year he went to live with two priests, a step that he had not dared to take until now, although he had always maintained a certain connection.

"At the end of the year, it was natural for me to ask the bishop to enter the preparatory course, the year that precedes life in the seminary. And here I am, studying theology and serving in two parishes in the Florentine diocese," he tells your Instagram followers.

Santini does not believe that this step means leaving aside his other great passions: "I have decided to leave modeling, acting and dancing, but I will not abandon all my passions, I will simply live them in a different way, offering them to God."

The until now model knows that not everyone will understand his decision, but he says he feels supported. "Of course I have people who talk behind my back. There are those who have no problem telling me that I am a disappointment, even in my family. But there are also those who support me, believers and non-believers," he concludes.
