Last Friday, Vicco went on stage to receive the award for Best Spanish New Artist at the LOS40 Music Awards gala. The first award for the Catalan singer in her career, but it would not be what would make her the absolute protagonist of the night on social networks.
The Nightentera interpreter has been in the eye of the storm for several days after her controversial comments at the gala. The Catalan was participating in one of the many games in which a reporter from the radio station invited the artists to talk about a popular character, when Vicco decided to get involved in politics, ignoring Pedro Sánchez.
The singer wanted to participate in the game proposed by the Los40 reporter, in which she had to choose who she had an affinity with from among two characters presented to her. When it was her turn, she quickly chose singer Karol G, ruling out Pedro Sánchez with equal speed.
A gesture that earned her some criticism on social networks, but that became a stir when some of them rescued a video of the singer from last May. In the images, in this case at the Primavera Pop gala, the same reporter is seen asking Vicco to point out Isabel Díaz Ayuso's flaws.
"Defects... None! This is very complicated," says the Catalan singer. "Does Ayuso have flaws?" she asks the reporter. "I like it! From here I'm going to get some wonderful headlines: 'Vicco's pepera'," she jokes.
As expected, the two videos have generated endless reactions among users on social networks, with some of them taking the opportunity to send all kinds of the most offensive and hurtful comments against the artist, simply for showing their preferences to political level.
"Crucified and banned," says one, claiming to have experienced a "disappointment" with the artist. "Fachentera," another baptizes her. "This girl always smelled terrible to me. It's confirmed," says a third. "You spent the summer from pride to pride and now you go out with these," another reproaches him.
For the moment, Vicco has not commented on all this controversy. The singer continues to enjoy her victory, and celebrated it on Instagram, wishing it to be the first award of many in her career.
"I continue to be amazed by what is happening this year. For me this award is an example of the work done to this day, of that constant struggle with the head that sometimes tells you that there is a place for you and other times that tells you that "You have taken a wrong turn," writes the artist. "Thank you to the people who have accompanied me throughout my career, at any point, before everything went well, those who have supported me in the bad times, I love you all very much," she concludes.
