This is Rafa Nadal's new solidarity stamp for charitable purposes

Rafa Nadal is one of the most successful athletes in the history of Spain. Since he started his professional career in 2001, the man from Manacor has left his mark on the clay, grass and hard court of tennis, managing to win 92 total tournaments. A record that includes 22 Grand Slams on the ATP circuit, two Olympic gold medals and five Davis Cups. A long and extensive life of success, now immortalized in a stamp collection.

This Wednesday morning, Correos and the Rafa Nadal Foundation presented what is known as the “Philatelic Pack with a Purpose”, which includes three stamps with the face of the Mallorcan tennis player. The objective of these pieces is to generate profits with which to finance social projects of the organization, which supports thousands of children in both Spain and India. The collaboration also includes three postcards and an envelope with photographs, showing said projects.

The event was held in the Clara Campoamor Building at Correos, in Madrid. The president of the organization, Juan Manuel Serrano Quintana, attended accompanied by the director of Philately, Leire Díez; and Xisca Perelló, president of the Foundation and partner of the tennis player. The highest leader of the public service highlighted the impact that the collaboration will have: “Rafa Nadal's solidarity seal will benefit more than 1,000 boys, girls and young people served by her Foundation in Spain and India.”

For his part, Perelló expressed his gratitude to Correos for the collaboration and reiterated the Foundation's desire to transform lives through sport, before closing the event with the traditional postmark. The pieces of this “Philatelic Pack with Purpose” can now be found on the Correos Market website, the sales platform that brings together multiple Spanish companies. The set is available for a price of 16.95 euros.

“We believe in the transformative value of sport. This is the motto of the Rafa Nadal Foundation, which we joined at Correos in this collaboration to launch a philatelic pack with a purpose, composed of three TUSELLO stamps of rate A, B and D with the image of Rafa Nadal, along with three postcards and an envelope from the Rafa Nadal Foundation,” describes the stamp purchase page, attaching several images of the pieces with the tennis player's face.

Regarding his professional career, the man from Manacor spoke last week about his possible return to the slopes. “There is no return date yet. Not the Davis Cup anymore, because we are eliminated and November could not have happened. I go day by day because I don't have the ability to know how my body will be in a few months. My first option right now would be in January, in Australia, but I don't know for sure,” he commented at an event at the Madrid Costume Museum.
