Sometimes, television reporters have to face the most surreal situations, although other times they are the ones who set themselves real challenges to overcome in front of the cameras.
This is what happened to a journalist from TVR Rioja TV, local television in La Rioja, who approached the training tests of the Gladiator Race held by the UAR, GAR and CAE units of the Civil Guard in Logroño. There, he decided to try for himself what it was like to try to overcome the difficult preparation tests.
After an agent showed him the first of the tests, which consisted of hitting a brick with a hammer to make it move along a lane, the reporter tried it decisively: "You'll see," he told them. However, things did not go as he expected and his strength was not enough to overcome the challenge.
The next test was balance, in which one had to cross a narrow, moving surface helped only by ropes. Although the worst moment the journalist experienced occurred when trying to cross a log without falling into the void. Fear took over him while the agents tried to reassure him: "Yes or yes, you have to bring out the best in yourself, and don't think about the fall," they asked him.
After trying repeatedly, the TVR Rioja TV reporter was not even able to begin the route. "I can't, I can't, I can't," he insisted to the Civil Guard agents who were supervising him. Finally, he decided to do it sitting down. "It will take a little longer, but you will get there," they told him. "Oh, I'm falling down," the journalist complained.
Finally, he tried to get up and at that moment he definitively lost his balance, falling into the void although at a low height. "Be careful!" Was the reaction of the agents, who quickly came to his aid: "Have you hurt yourself?" They asked him. The funny moment has gone viral and has accumulated thousands of reactions on social networks.
