Last March, Iván Ferreiro presented his first album in seven years with his brother Amaro, Trinchera Pop, with which he dared to experiment and claimed to have rediscovered the role of composing. However, one thing does not change: his particular voice, so recognizable and that thousands of his faithful have followed for decades.
A voice that does not fade, despite the periods of rest -forced or not- that the composer from Vigo has been forced to take; and that, apparently, will not go out either. It's his fault, his son Andrés, who has surprised the followers of his famous father with his voice in his musical debut with his band, Querido. The young man, the band's singer, is like a carbon copy of his father in his early days with Los Piratas, and has not left anyone indifferent.
The young man and his band made their first appearance last week at the Náutico de San Vicente, a venue that has always been very special in the solo career of his father, Iván Ferreiro; and his performance left the audience speechless. So much so that the videos did not take long to spread like wildfire through social networks.
This is the first time that we can listen live to the son of Iván Ferreiro, who was not known to want to follow in his father's footsteps in the world of music, who seems to have influenced him not only in his career, but also in the style, composition, themes and the recognizable timbre of his voice, reminiscent of those times in the late 90s, when Los Piratas published their famous Ultrasónica.
Querido performed for the first time live, after officially presenting himself on social networks last June. Andrés Ferreiro's band presents itself as a new indie pop music group, and promises to give a lot to talk about.
“Thanks to all of you who came up and listened without knowing who we were, giving us an opportunity”, they say, before thanking their family, friends and the rest of the team, “Always grateful for the opportunity”.
At the moment, the band's music is not yet available, nor are they present on the different digital platforms. However, no one doubts that it is a matter of time. Neither are they themselves, who are the first to bet strongly on this project, which they have been working on for many months. From their official Instagram profile, they assure that they will soon publish news: “This is just the beginning. We are anxious to be able to publish what we heard the day before yesterday. Don't get impatient and stay tuned. See you soon, dear ones."
