The Solidarity Night Against Cancer in Barcelona raises 345,000 euros

The tenth edition of the Nit Solidària, organized by the Association Against Cancer (Aecc) in Barcelona, was held on Wednesday night in Poble Espanyol in support of oncological research and the well-being of patients and their families. The gala, hosted by journalist Elisenda Camps, featured the intervention of Dr. Laureano Molins, president of the association in Barcelona, who highlighted the goal of achieving 70% cancer survival in 2030.

According to Molins, this medium-term goal requires working on prevention and research, and he stressed the importance of support from society as a whole for the cause. To this end, the president asked for more help from the authorities present during his speech and also asked the civil society that attended the event to "do their bit", since "cancer is not a matter for a few."

More than 600 people attended the charity dinner, thus contributing to the success of the event. Among those in attendance were the actor and producer Daniel Horvath and the actress Cristina Brondo. After dinner, the night continued with an aerial acrobatic dance show and later closed with a performance by the Catalan group The Tutsies, in which they played hits from recent decades.

The Association Against Cancer in Barcelona has a significant number of members, professionals and dedicated volunteers. Everyone works tirelessly to achieve the Association's fundamental mission: supporting patients and their families, informing and raising awareness in society about cancer, and promoting research by funding innovative research projects.

It is also worth mentioning the participation of prominent politicians such as Josefa Beltran, subdelegate of the Government in Barcelona; Anna Erra, President of the Parliament; Carlos Campuzano, Minister of Social Rights; Marta Villanueva, councilor for Health, People with Disabilities and Strategy against Loneliness; Carme Bertral, Secretary of Health Care and Participation; Josep Ramón Mut, delegate president of the Area of Commerce, Consumption and Public Health at the Provincial Council of Barcelona; Ignacio Garriga, president of VOX Catalonia; Alejandro Fernández, president of PP Catalonia; Carlos Carrizosa, president of Ciudadanos Catalunya; Titón Laïlla, councilor of Together for Catalonia; Maria Eugènia Gay, deputy mayor in Barcelona City Council; and Xavier Trias, former mayor and president of the Trias Municipal Group for Barcelona.
