The sad reason that has brought Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith together again

The world of acting and entertainment is in mourning. Chita Rivera, legendary dancer, actress and singer who triumphed on Broadway for more than six decades with works such as Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman and Nine, has died.

Although she was already an elderly person (she turned 91 on January 23), her daughter has revealed that she has died due to "a brief illness." The news has shocked many of Rivera's colleagues, friends and loved ones, as well as the thousands of fans she accumulated around the world.

Two people very close to the deceased who were very sad to receive the news are Antonio Banderas and his ex-wife, the acclaimed Hollywood actress Melanie Griffith. They both met the artist many years ago and had a very special affection for her.

''Chita Rivera has died. The news hits me leaving the set where I shoot here in New York. An enormous legend of musical theater has just left, a fantastic dancer, a luminous being, a friend with whom I shared the stage for almost a year on Broadway. Goodbye my friend. Memories of that eternal tango of NINE and of your wisdom, your energy and your love for the scene,'' the man from Malaga wrote in a post on his official X account (previously known as Twitter).

Along with the writing, the actor has published different images with Rivera, which have moved his audience and have generated endless comments of support and affection towards the protagonist of Dolor y Gloria. It should be noted that Banderas received a Tony Award nomination for the play he performed alongside the deceased (Nine).

The mother of actress Dakota Johnson has joined her ex-husband and has written some moving words of farewell to what was one of her best friends in the entertainment industry.

''What a legend! What a woman. It's so sad to see you go. Cheetah, you will live in me and in the millions of hearts you touched forever. In 2003, Antonio was doing "Nine the Musical" on Broadway with Chita. I had to do "Chicago the Musical" at the same time, on the same street. When you go into a Broadway show that's been running for a while, you only have 1 full rehearsal right before you go to "Broadway" (...) For my put in (dress rehearsal) there were only 3 people in the audience. .. Antonio, Anne Reinking and Chita Rivera. She was so kind, so loving, so supportive. I will never forget her. She gave me so much confidence. RIP. Magnificent beautiful cheetah '', she has expressed on her official Instagram account.
