The King assigns Infanta Sofía her first solo act

Infanta Sofía will debut her official solo agenda in the new photography contest organized by National Heritage that will bear her name. Thus, Felipe VI has assigned his youngest daughter, who will turn 17 on the 29th, the first institutional role representing the Crown as the person in charge of presenting the awards.

The youngest member of the royal family has not participated in any institutional event alone so far and his activities have always been with the Kings or in the company of his sister, Princess Leonor. National Heritage announced this Thursday the call for the contest “Objective Heritage. Infanta Sofía Photography Contest”, whose winners will be announced in October of this year.

At the moment it is unknown when the gala chaired by the infanta will take place, which will be held in one of the Royal Sites managed by National Heritage. “Infanta Sofía, as the youngest member of the Royal Family, to which the institution is linked, sponsors the contest and will be in charge of presenting the awards,” National Heritage reported in a statement coinciding with Monuments Day and Sites.

The youngest daughter of the Kings will complete the first of two high school courses in June at the boarding school in Wales (United Kingdom) where the Princess of Asturias also studied. Since the proclamation of Felipe VI almost ten years ago, Sofía de Borbón has been part of the royal family, along with her parents, her sister and kings Juan Carlos and Sofía.

The contest that will bear the name of the Infanta will be divided into three categories - palaces and monasteries, natural spaces and works of art - and any photography fan who is of legal age and resides in Spain can participate, and they will have until on September 30 to present their work. Each of the winners will get a double card for free access to all the Royal National Heritage Sites and monuments for one year.
