The day Rosalía declared herself the biggest fan of Estopa on television: "What did he say?"

A new installment of Días de tele, presented by Julia Otero, arrived on TVE's La 1 this Wednesday to talk about The day television became modern and the appearance of the most avant-garde programs. For this, she invited well-known characters such as Boris Izaguirre, Yolanda Ramos, Javier Gurruchaga, Samanta Villar, La Pija, La Quinqui and the Estopa group.

The brothers David and José Muñoz, for example, became famous after participating in a singer-songwriter contest in 1998. But who was going to tell them that they would go from working in a factory to being "very rich", they assured. And even, to have Rosalía as one of her biggest fans. Julia Otero wanted to surprise her guests with the day the Catalan explained on foreign television and in English what this rock-flamenco group meant to her.

Estopa has been in the music industry for more than 25 years with hits that made the Spanish dance in the late nineties and early 2000s of the last century. His fame took them from working in a car factory to earning on tour what his father had worked for him all his life. A trajectory that they wanted to remember with Julia Otero in Días de tele.

Throughout the interview they talked about their references, the criticism of their outfits (they did not pay attention to the wardrobe), even the self-censorship in their first lyrics. And the thing is, tacos have always been a sign of identity for this Catalan rock-flamenco group. Estopa, in turn, became a benchmark for other artists, such as Rosalía.

In fact, Julia Otero surprised David and José Muñoz with a video of the Catalan, in an interview for a foreign television, where she tried to explain what Estopa was in English. Some images that made the brothers laugh.

"Today's leading figures of modernity such as C. Tangana or Rosalía always mention you as an inspiration," explained Julia Otero. In the case of the Catalan singer, "she has made it clear that she was always one of your biggest fans." Then, the program rescued an interview with Rosalía in English talking about that rock and flamenco fusion of the Estopa.

“The first album I bought wasn't an album, it was a cassette. I loved this band called Estopa in Spain and it was like a rock band, flamenco, a kind of fused music, something very special. I think they were very special. The lyrics were amazing. There were a lot of swear words, like some words that when you're a kid, you know you can't say. So, my mom used to say, 'Don't listen to that!', you know? But then she would listen to him anyway, ”said Rosalía.

At the end of the video, David was humorous and released a "what did he say?", because it seems that he was not reading the translation in the video and was only listening to Rosalía speak in English, which caused laughter on the set.
