While the Danish royal family remains in the spotlight after the historic proclamation of King Frederick
It is about an alleged kiss between Mary Donaldson and Prince Joachim, Frederick's brother, which Danish gossip magazines reported in 2008. The magazine Svensk Damtiding published on its cover an image of Margaret's second son in a dubious gesture towards her. sister-in-law with the headline: "Joaquín gropes Mary!"
Some Danish media and British tabloids such as Daily Mail published that Joachim had been madly in love with the now Queen Mary. And, specifically, this Danish magazine published that Joaquín had tried to kiss Donaldson during a gala, just a few months after his marriage to his wife, Marie Cavallier, in 2008.

King Frederick X's feud with his only brother, Prince Joachim, has never been confirmed but has been rumored for years. And due to his settlement outside Denmark in 2020 and the withdrawal of the title of prince from his children last year, the family schism became more evident.
Prince Joachim, who has a long military career and was appointed colonel in the Danish reserve army in April 2015, went to Paris to work as a Danish defense attaché at the country's embassy in the French capital. And after a few years there, last September, the prince and his family settled in Washington, where he now also works as a defense attaché at the Danish embassy in the American capital.
During his brother's proclamation he traveled to the country without his family. He was not seen on the day of the proclamation, but he participated in an institutional event at the headquarters of the Danish parliament in which he sat next to his mother.
Joaquín from Denmark has four children, two from his first marriage to Alejandra Manley, Nicolás and Félix, who seem interested in fashion and social networks; and two others from his current marriage to Marie Cavallier, Enrique and Athena. All of them have been counts of Monpezat since the title of prince was withdrawn from them. With his settlement in Washington, the prince joins the long list of royals living in the United States, such as Prince Henry of Sussex, Princess Mako of Japan, Magdalena of Sweden or Martha Louise of Norway.
