The 2023/2024 football season on screen: How to watch each match of each competition?

The short wait is over. This coming weekend the main soccer competition in Spain returns, with a new name: LaLiga EA Sports. The first category of state soccer opens fire tomorrow, Friday at 7:30 p.m., with the duel between Almería and Rayo Vallecano.

This will be the first of a huge number of men's and women's matches that Spanish viewers will be able to watch on their screens during the season, distributed among a wide multitude of platforms to review.

To begin with, the formerly called Men's First Division will be divided into two blocks: LaLiga TV (Movistar, Orange) and DAZN, which will broadcast five games per day each and will share out the Clásicos. The streaming platform will offer the one for the first round, while the telemarketers will keep the one for the second.

Movistar also presents a new channel with which it will share one of the LaLiga TV clashes: Movistar Plus. For those who do not have pay television, Gol Play will offer a free-to-air match on DTT, but it will not be from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, Valencia or from teams playing in European competition.

For its part, the silver category also has a new name, LaLiga Hypermotion, and presents a simpler division. Movistar Plus and Vamos, both from the blue teleoperator, will broadcast one match per day and the promotion playoff, while the other eleven can be seen thanks to the LaLiga Hypermotion TV channel on the following operators: Movistar, Orange TV, Vodafone, Prime Video , Telecable, MásMóvil, Yoigo, Virgin Telco, Euskaltel, R Galicia, Sweno and Embou.

The third category of Spanish football, Primera RFEF, is also looking for a place on the fans' screens. In this case, the video service company ATM Broadcast will be in charge of broadcasting it via streaming, with a future linear channel for platforms; in addition to matches on regional television and a DTT channel to be determined.

Its other two amateur aspects, Second and Third RFEF, do not have ways of experiencing the duels, with the exception of the respective local radio stations and personal assistance to the field. An opportunity to support more modest levels of football and that, in some cases, this course will meet against professional teams.

When it comes to domestic knockout competitions, Movistar has much of the coverage of the Copa del Rey. The Telefónica operator will offer 32 games from the first two rounds and the rest of the tournament from the round of 16. RTVE will have two matches per round until the quarterfinals, and will also broadcast the semifinals and the final in their entirety. The other great KO tournament, the Spanish Super Cup, is exclusive to the new Movistar Plus channel.

At the European level, the blue platform dominates the playing field. The Movistar Liga de Campeones channel will broadcast the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Youth League and UEFA SuperCup in its entirety, leaving only one match per Champions League game for Movistar Plus and the youth tournament for Vamos. For open viewers, RTVE will broadcast the Champions League final, while Cuatro will have one Europa League match per day except for the final.

The rest of the continent's competitions are also very spread out. Movistar will have access through its Champions League, Vamos and Plus channels to the Italian Serie A and the three German competitions: Bundesliga, Cup and Super Cup. DAZN controls all football in England, from the Premier League to League Two, including the FA and Carabao Cup, as well as the Italian Cup, Super Cup and the Japanese League.

For its part, Eurosport will broadcast the French Ligue 1, while another of the major European leagues has been left without a viewing platform: the Dutch Eredivise. Nor will it be possible to see the Belgian Jupiter Pro League, which had a three-way heart attack finale in injury time on the last day.

In the rest of the world, the biggest claim is the American MLS, Leo Messi's Inter Miami league, which can be seen along with the Leagues Cup on Apple TV. The OTT LaLiga Plus will have access to the Brasileirão (together with the streaming portals Fanatiz and OneFootball), the Copa Libertadores and the AFC Champions League, the top Asian club competition.

Regarding these new platforms, the first will also keep the Argentine league and cup together with the Peruvian championship, while the second will broadcast the tournaments in Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, Slovakia, Finland, Poland, Norway, Latvia, Estonia and Kazakhstan. An international offer that completes DAZN with the FIFA Club World Cup, the club world cup.

Along with this mammoth offer for men, women's soccer also finds a place on the country's screens. The F League will be broadcast in its entirety by DAZN, which will share a match with Gol Play in the open. The qualifying competition, the Copa de la Reina, will be seen more sporadically, with some matches to be determined that will be broadcast through Teledeporte and the Catalan regional Esport3. The rest of the categories will require other follow-ups or personal assistance to the stadiums.

On the European board, the UEFA Women's Champions League is also a DAZN affair, which will broadcast 61 matches from the group stage to the final on its platform and a further 19 for free on its YouTube channel. The streaming system will also have exclusive access to three international leagues: the English FA Women's Super League, the German Frauen-Bundesliga and the American NSWL.

Finally, national team football is not absent from this great list either. The men's Eurocup to be held in Germany next year can be seen in its entirety on Spanish Television, which also has material available in the qualifying phase. The public entity will offer the latest duels for Spain in the previous rounds, while the UEFA.tv portal will broadcast without restrictions those of other teams.
