The journalist had finished giving the headlines for the weekend when Alfonso Arús gave her a surprise: he had left a "headline" to give, his own. "Well, they tell me that it has been very special for Elisabeth López. Is that so?" Arús asked, causing the journalist to smile big.
López then confessed that yes, he was getting married. The journalist revealed that the request was actually made in November, but they made it public this weekend so that all of her friends could find out the good news.
The reason for this late announcement was that his uncle had passed away two weeks earlier, so they had decided to delay it a bit before making it public. "It took us a while. At that time there was good news, but also bad news. But I'm very happy."
The journalist also gave more details about what the big day was going to be like for her and her partner, Pau, to whom she was going to say "I do" on October 4, 2025.
When asked by Arús why it was so late, López explained that the date had a special meaning for the couple, since then it would have been five years since they saw each other for the first time.
Jokingly, Arús proposed a new date: August 26, 2026, the date of the next solar eclipse; that although it will be visible as a total only in the extreme north of Russian Siberia, it would always serve as an anecdote. In the program they have two countdowns, with the Paris Olympic Games and the next eclipse as the protagonists. "I propose putting a third one, for Elizabeth López's wedding," the presenter joked.
The journalist and her partner, Pau Cortés, will say "I do" on October 4, 2025. A very special date for the couple, which, as López explains, was when they saw each other for the first time. They shared through their social networks how they had experienced that special moment last November.
"A question and a “Yessss” that we could only say with our eyes because the emotion was too strong," they write in the publication on Instagram. "In 2025, the most exciting party we have ever held is coming!"
A request celebrated on his birthday, which "surprisingly ended in an explosion of love and shared happiness" and with great emotions.
Now, we will have to wait until 2025 and, perhaps, for Arús and his colleagues to start that possible countdown in the program. For the moment, Elizabeth López and Pau Cortés promise to continue celebrating. "Let's not stop celebrating life like this!"
