Stupor at the shocking physical change of one of the actors of 'The Snow Society' before and after filming: "I'm in shock"

The Snow Society has become one of Netflix's most successful products at the beginning of 2024. J. A. Bayona's film, based on the accident of Flight 571 of the Uruguayan Air Force in 1971, has moved viewers and has earned recognition from around the world, in the form of awards and successful reviews. A triumph that can also be attributed to its interpretive cast, which has been in charge of conveying the madness experienced in the Andes.

This large cast has had to film and stage very complicated scenes on a physical and psychological level, leaving obvious consequences on their bodies. One of the most compelling cases is that of Simón Hempe, in charge of playing José Luis "Coche" Inciarte. The Argentine actor published on his TikTok profile a chilling comparison of his body in a mirror, showing the great weight loss that he has undergone during filming.

“The biggest challenge. We seek to tell this story with the greatest respect and with all the commitment possible. Putting not only all our emotions and our minds, but also our bodies at the disposal of this story, to be able to see ourselves and be seen as the real characters. In my case I had to play José Luis "Coche" Inciarte, which was a huge source of pride and emotion,” Hempe explained, while he looked skeletal in the second image.

“This photo shows the commitment of the Snow Society actors to their characters. This is the physical appearance of Simón Hempe, the first and last day of filming. Antonio Escribano father and son, two nutritionists from Córdoba who had already worked on the film Gordos, designed a specific diet for each of the actors and carried out weekly monitoring to ensure their health," revealed J.A. Bayona through his X profile (Twitter).

“Wherever the weight loss was not safe, the visual effects team made small adjustments to fine-tune the result. It was a team effort but above all a sign of the respect and responsibility that the actors showed towards their work, their characters and the story we were telling. Thanks guys. “I love you and I admire you infinitely,” the director concluded, focusing on the care that everyone took.

Hempe's publication on TikTok has more than 9.3 million views, as well as 860,000 likes and nearly 3,600 comments, reacting to the comparison. “Thank you for committing to such a beautiful and moving project, that says a lot about you as an actor and as a person,” a user dedicated to him, a comment that the Argentine replied, showing his deep gratitude.
