Ana Rosa Quintana's space, TardeAR, addressed during Thursday's program the surprising case of a Madrid couple who had entrusted the keys to their home located in the Cádiz municipality of Chipiona to their assistant without knowing that the woman had hidden intentions: to squat. home.

The protagonists of this bizarre story are Eugenio and Guillermina, a couple living in Madrid, who had decided to buy, investing all their savings, a house in the Cadiz municipality thinking about their retirement. Therefore, the couple hired a woman temporarily to be in charge of the house in her absence.

This woman was taking care of and cleaning the house for a year and a half. But the surprise comes when a neighbor decides to call the couple to warn them that her house was being squatted. ''She had gone from being the person who entrusted them with the keys to being her squatter,'' explained the program's reporter, who had tried to speak, without success, with the squatter on several occasions. But the attempts of Eugenio and Guillermina to try to recover their house have been in vain and the house has been squatted for two years.

This Thursday, the couple opened up on Telecinco about the complicated moments they were going through after losing their home in Cádiz. When they discovered that his house could be squatted, Eugenio decided to call his assistant with all his good intentions, who immediately told them that everything was in order.

''I asked her how the house was and she told me ''it's okay, I'm just going to stay here and live in the house'' (...) I told her that she couldn't stay because it was my house and she He told me "no, I'm going to stay here because they've evicted me from another house," he said. And after becoming aware that he was staying in his house, Eugenio discovered that he was previously a squatter tenant. ''She paid for two months and it took the man months to kick her out because he didn't pay her,'' he explained.

''We reported it the same day we found out (...) We have tried to reason with her and she hangs up on us, she doesn't answer us, she doesn't tell us anything. From what I understand, she is going to be there as long as necessary until she finds another house to squat again,' she stressed. Regarding the household expenses, the couple confirmed that they were taking care of it. ''We continue paying for water and electricity, they have countless expenses,'' declared Eugenio.
