Shakira does not let Piqué live on the night of the Latin Grammy: "There is nothing in the past"

The 24th edition of the Latin Grammys 2023 has witnessed the outstanding presence of Shakira, who not only took home the award for Best Pop Song for Shakira: BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53, but also starred in a packed night of emotions (and indirect ones) when winning the Latin Grammy for Song of the Year.

Accompanied by her children Milan and Sasha, the Colombian artist began the gala by thanking her Spanish fans for their support and revealing that she has gone through difficult times in the country, referring to her separation from Gerard Piqué.

Shakira then took the stage for an emotional performance of Acrosticus, dressed in a gold costume with the image of a Sorrowful Virgin on her chest. Her children joined her, projected on the screens as they sang verses of the song. This piece of music represents Shakira's farewell to Barcelona and Piqué, marking a moving moment on the awards night.

Shakira's connection with the public was evident when, together with music producer Bizarrap, she recalled that "women make money" and expressed that she was "clearly" not going to forget Piqué at the Latin Grammy ceremony. The Seville Congress Palace resonated with the humming of the public, highlighting the emotionality of the song dedicated to her ex-husband and father of her children.

Following the performance, Shakira and Bizarrap won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Song of the Year. Shakira dedicated a few words to Milan and Sasha: "I want to dedicate this award to my children because I have promised them that I am going to be happy, that they are going to have a mother who is going to smile." Furthermore, she added: "There is nothing in the past, only the future is remembered."

In a gesture that did not go unnoticed, Shakira demonstrated once again her ability to turn each performance into a memorable event, leaving Gerard Piqué in the center of attention throughout the night of the Latin Grammys.
