Sergio Calderón, the popular actor who participated in films such as Pirates of the Caribbean: At the End of the World or Men in Black, has died this Wednesday at the age of 77 in Los Angeles of natural causes, as confirmed by a family spokesman, according to with Deadline.

Born in 1945, the Mexican actor studied acting at the Instituto Andrés Soler in Mexico City, before moving to the US, where he was part of the cast of numerous films.

Calderón participated in important productions such as Pirates of the Caribbean: At the End of the World, where he played Captain Villanueva, one of the Lords of Piracy, who many will remember for his role in the meeting of the Pirate Brotherhood.

In Men in Black, another Hollywood hit, the Mexican actor played José, the character whose head is shown on the tip of a Tommy Lee Jones sword.

Calderón also participated in many other films, such as Las Ruinas or Bajo el Volcán. In addition, he also worked on series such as The Resort, Los Magníficos or Better Things.
