Pilar Rubio has just launched her fourth collection with Selmark, a leading Galician swimwear firm with whom she has already formed an indissoluble team. She not only designs but also acts as an enviable model for her creations. This is how she explains it in a conversation with La Vanguardia: “They contacted me but not to be an image of the brand but to also get me involved in the design. And they gave me complete freedom. Imagine, that was one of my dreams: I have been behind a counter selling little children's clothes almost since I was born because my family had a store, my mother is a seamstress and I have notions since I was little. I'm not a professional but I've always been interested. It is a dream come true and each new collection is almost like having a child”, explains the presenter.
Pilar has had four children with Sergio Ramos and, at the age of 45, her silhouette remains. “I have to train more because the weather… There I do set limits and objectives. I don't want to deprive myself of anything and be stronger, and that entails a sacrifice. I also do it for health, for postural hygiene and for the children, if not, you will slouch and become small. And besides, it's part of my job to stay in shape. I keep one thing that I once heard from Schwarzenegger, every day I go to the gym I am one step closer to achieving what I want. This new collection, Mare23, is inspired by Brazil. She herself exhibits two of the models in the presentation, some of which she has recently been dressing as a judge on the program El desafío.
Pilar Rubio has spent half her life on television. We met her as a reporter for I know what you did, at the beginning of the Sixth, giving the reply to Ángel Martín and Patricia Conde. “I miss specific moments because I laughed a lot, I had a great time, I was with colleagues like you… But it was also very cold because I had to wear heels and a little dress. She came home frozen and with my feet that hurt. But I have very good memories."
She has ever taken her children to The Challenge, says the designer, but "without mixing them." The fights could be epic: “There are times when I look as if it were a show, to see who is crying today. When I prepare the snack for school I number them. And I call them like this: number 1, number 2, number 3… I have sometimes taken them to The Challenge but not all of them, because they mess it up. And it's 'I can mix 1 with 3, but 4 and 2 stick together' (laughs)”. There will be no girl, says Pilar Rubio. After four men (Sergio Jr, Marco, Alejandro and Máximo Adriano) they have decided to leave it here.
By the way, there is no crisis in the couple: “One thing that maturity and the 45 years that I have have given me is that I take important things seriously. let them talk Yes, who knows what happens in my house is my husband and me. I understand that a couple in crisis sells more than "oh, how happy we are" but I can't do anything and I'm not going to waste my time denying it”.

Finally, she prefers to humor the harassment suffered through social networks by her, her husband and her family. A disturbed man threatened to kill them. “Hmm…I didn't know, I saw it last night. It's just that I've been doing this for many years, I think it's almost part of the profession. I've even had a restraining order against some crazy person: when someone comes with a knife saying 'I'm Pilar's savior and I have to kill I don't know who to save her…' People are very far away”.
