Penélope Cruz joins the trend of transparent dresses

This past Monday night, the Cipriani Wall Street restaurant in New York hosted the Gotham Awards. An event that brought together many Hollywood stars, among them, Penélope Cruz, who captured everyone's attention with her spectacular styling with which she joined one of the season's biggest trends: transparencies.

The actress, who was among those nominated for her work at Ferrari, chose a romantic design from the fall-winter 2023/2024 collection of Chanel, her flagship brand and for which she is an ambassador. A beautiful white, bridal-style design, which stood out for its lace and which combined with a beige bodysuit underneath to subtly show off her body.

Virginie Viard's creation was made of white knit fabric that drew a translucent geometric motif. A delicate piece that had a collar with a gathered ruffle, long, slightly puffed sleeves with tight cuffs and a central embroidery, from the neck to the bottom of the skirt, reminiscent of shirt dresses.

Cruz combined this dress with black satin sandals, matching the handbag, and jewelry from the same house, with XL camellia earrings and a matching ring. As for her beauty look, Penelope was faithful to her usual makeup, with shadows in brown tones and nude lips, and her wavy hair parted next to it.

Also surprising at the event was Margot Robbie, who once again became Barbie. The protagonist of one of the most viewed films of 2023 paid tribute to her character with a black dress that the iconic Mattel doll had worn almost sixty years ago.

The Australian was radiant in a strapless design, with the body slightly corseted, which was the work of Prada. An elegant piece that she wore with a semi-transparent cape with a bow detail at the neck and short gloves that provided a sophisticated touch.

A look that was identical to Barbie's, with the same sandals, in this case by Manolo Blahnik, a gold bag and one of the doll's most characteristic hairstyles in the 60s: a high polished ponytail with the tips out.
