The cascade of expressions of affection continues for the death of ventriloquist and comedian María del Carmen Martínez, known as "Mari Carmen and her dolls", who has died at the age of 80 at her home in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife).
The last to express his condolences has been the comedian and presenter Pedro Ruiz. "I am hurt by the news of the death of Mari Carmen Martínez Barrasa. They have called me from Telemadrid to let me know," explained the Catalan through his Twitter account.
Ruiz assures that "Mari Carmen is unrepeatable: "Genius, passion, identity... Much peace, my friend." And he ended up regretting the news with a brief "oh, oh".
Santiago Segura also showed his regret. "One of the great comedians in our history has left us. A woman who for decades managed to make half of Spain laugh accompanied by some dolls, Mari Carmen. Wonderful, with a sharp wit, fast, brilliant and with quick mental agility on stage ", he tweeted.
The National Police is investigating the circumstances in which the humorist's death occurred, after her body was found this Thursday at her home in Tenerife. Apparently, the causes of her death are due to "an accidental fall down the stairs" of her home, according to Semana magazine.
Mari Carmen (Cuenca, 1943) became famous for her television shows in which she spoke with her puppet dolls Doña Rogelia, Daisy, Nícol and Rodolfo. The humorist herself directed several programs on the most important channels in our country, such as La 1 de RTVE or Telecinco.
