Comedian Berto Romero returns to free-to-air television with an ambitious project. After his time in the Movistar Plus series, The Other Side, and the adaptation of Nobody Knows Anything on HBO Max, Romero joins the La 2 grid with Ovejas Eléctricas, an innovative space that will address literature in its various manifestations: books, comics, movie scripts, television series, songs and even popular myths and legends.
The program, which is still in the pre-production phase and with recordings scheduled in Bizkaia for five weeks, is the result of the collaboration between RTVE and K2000, the same production company behind Órbita Laika. According to verTele exclusively, the format is emerging as a weekly prime time space, aimed at all audiences.
The proposal will be distinguished by its humorous approach. Romero will be accompanied by a group of collaborators who will participate in different sections, all integrated into a set designed as a 'pop up book', as the aforementioned header points out, which will be displayed in the style of children's literary works.
Each episode will delve into a specific topic, exploring how it has been addressed throughout history in various cultural works. Of course, there will be a special section that will break the dynamics of the set by inviting a famous actor, singer or presenter to share their "video library or personal library", as they point out.
Romero's new project marks his return to free-to-air television after his participation in Late Motiv. Furthermore, this space for dissemination and entertainment comes after the Catalan's foray into fiction with The Other Side.
In addition, Ovejas Eléctricas will be the first program he has presented since Berto's program on LaSexta, in 2009, although its broadcast was very brief (from March 15 to 29 of that same year). The comedian has also replaced Andreu Buenafuente in the different late shows in which they have coincided.
