New disappointment for the British royal family, now with the separation of Charles III's nephew

Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne and nephew of King Charles III, and his partner, Lindsay Wallace, have ended their relationship, a spokesperson for the grandson of the late Elizabeth II has confirmed to People magazine. The two made their first public appearance during the weekend of Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.

The couple has put an end to their romance after three years of discreet relationship, and according to The Sun, it is an amicable separation. However, this represents a new setback in the apparent "bad streak" that the family of King Carlos III is going through.

Peter Phillips met Lindsay Wallace when he was a teenager, as his former partner, the daughter of an oil company executive, is a friend of his sister, Zara Tindall. According to the Daily Mail, both reconnected at a reunion of alumni of Gordonstoun, the Scottish school they both attended, after the divorce of Phillips and his then wife, Autumn Kelly, in 2020, after 12 years of marriage.

The first time they could be photographed together was during the baptism of Zara Tindall's son, Lucas (3), at which time he allegedly introduced her to his grandmother; and later, in that of August Brooksbank (3), son of Princess Eugenie, in November 2021. The relationship became official shortly after, with their appearance in the Epsom Derby during the Jubilee, in 2022.

Phillips is the father of two girls, Isla (13) and Savannah Phillips (12), the result of his marriage to his ex-wife, with whom Lindsay Wallace, also the mother of two children, had a great relationship. He also appeared to maintain a cordial relationship with Autumn Kelly, the girls' mother, who resided at the family home in Gatcombe Park, within Princess Anne's 700-hectare estate in Gloucestershire, until the end of 2022.

According to the British edition of Hello!, the couple had been separated for several months. "Peter and Lindsay made the difficult decision to separate as they were spending less time together with work and family commitments."

"It's very sad. Peter has been traveling all over the world and has been incredibly busy, and Lindsay lives in Scotland, so it has been difficult for them to see each other," adds the source consulted by the aforementioned publication.

Eighteenth in line to the throne, he has always been an example to his cousins, William and Henry; but with the "advantage" of being able to enjoy all the privileges that correspond to him by birth without having to work for the Crown. Thanks to this, he has been able to choose a life in anonymity or work in private sectors. He is currently part of the team at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh.

Due to a rule established by King George V in 1917, the title of Royal Highness can only be passed down through the paternal line. Therefore, neither Peter nor Zara Phillips can be prince or princess, as they are children of Princess Anne, the only daughter of Elizabeth II.

Furthermore, the father of both brothers, Captain Mark Phillips, rejected the title of earl, so he is not a member of the Royal Family; a decision that left his children without titles since his birth. For Princess Anne it was the best alternative, because she allowed her children to have the best life possible.
