"May God free me from returning to your side": Rosalía revives 'Despechá' a year after its release

One year ago today Rosalía published one of her most successful songs: Despechá. The song became the hit of the summer and garnered huge numbers on music platforms. As of today, the musical track accumulates more than 786.2 million views on Spotify and 407 million on YouTube.

Although the song by the singer from Sant Esteve Sesrovires celebrates its first anniversary today, it seems that it is more up to date than ever. In social networks, there is no talk of anything other than the unexpected breakup between the Catalan and Rauw Alejandro, who got engaged seven months ago and expressed their desire to "grow old together."

Some fans of the Catalan are joking on social networks about whether the lyrics of this song could be dedicated today to the singer's ex-boyfriend. In the lyrics of said song there is a very significant verse that many of her followers are now using against the Ron Cola interpreter and I congratulate you: "May God free me from returning to your la'o."

Some are also joking with the verse ''Baby, don't call me', I'm busy 'forgetting your male''', since Rauw Alejandro uploaded a story tagging Rosalía a week ago despite assuring in a statement that he they left months ago.

Although many followers laugh at the matter and tweet funny memes and comments, the protagonists of the story are having a very hard time. After more than 24 hours filled with accusations of infidelity, bad wishes, and threats, the Puerto Rican issued a statement in which he confirmed the breakup, but in which he also made it clear that there had been no third parties in their relationship and that he respected and wanted much to ''Rosi''.

For her part, Rosalía wrote a message on an Instagram story to ask her fandom for calm and respect: "I want respect and I admire Rauw very much. I don't pay attention to the movies, we know what we have experienced. This moment is not easy so thanks to everyone for understanding and respecting.''

Rosalía celebrated the end of the Motomami World Tour surrounded by her team in France. Although she was very affected during the concert and the following days in the French country, her fans believed that she felt a cocktail of emotions at the end of such an important world tour.

When the break came to light, the pieces of the puzzle began to fit together and the audience and her followers were able to verify that the singer of Tuya or La noche de anoche is having a very hard personal moment.
