María Patiño reveals how she has experienced the latest changes at work: "I needed psychological help"

María Patiño is one of the most iconic and recognized presenters on Telecinco. If something characterizes Ferrol, it is her sense of humor and her vitality. However, in recent months she has faced several setbacks on a professional level that have taken a toll on her mood. Last June she said goodbye to Sálvame, where she collaborated for more than fourteen years. Socialite was all she had left, but as some rumors already predicted, the presenter will leave this space to embark on new adventures. She has now opened up about how she has experienced these changes with Readings.

After the cancellation of Sálvame, on June 23, its most recognized collaborators tried to find a new work project to embark on. After this goodbye, Sálvese who can, the project of eight of them with Netflix, was born. The truth is that while some have been able to manage it in the best possible way, others have found it difficult to deal with their uncertain work future. This is the case of María Patiño, who even had to put herself in the hands of professionals.

Patiño went from having every afternoon busy to having a lot of free time. "After the holidays, the afternoons seemed eternal, accustomed to a brutal workload," he said, about how hard September was. Thus, he made it clear that despite continuing with work, it had been reduced. "I'm terrified of free time. I don't know how to manage it, now I've had to do it. In September I spent it quite regularly," he reveals to Lecturas magazine.

The presenter assures that she feels a "void" with this new work situation that she has faced in recent months. "I asked for psychological help. It can't be that I have everything and be down. I wasn't crying, it was apathy," the presenter explained about her feelings in those complicated moments. And her entire routine changed overnight, something that she didn't know how to manage entirely well.

After these statements, María opened up to the magazine about her real problem. "I have been diagnosed with work addiction," she commented. However, with professional help and her positive attitude he has regained his energy and joy. "But I have been reborn. Now I have hope," she expressed. And, despite soon leaving Socialité, a program that she has presented since its inception in 2017, she is excited about her new projects. "I'm very well and you'll find out," she assured Semana after the news about her departure came out.

Last Friday, Patiño wanted to write a beautiful farewell to all his program colleagues, who have been at the forefront during all the weekends and holidays. "I want to thank my two loves, I decided, even though I had a job, to get involved in this wonderful adventure," he began by writing in a publication along with a photograph of him on the set of Socialité.

"Thanks to Paolo Vasile, Oscar Cornejo and Adrián Madrid for believing in me. Thanks to my directors Patricia, María José Camacho, David Linares and Javier de Hoyos. Thanks to you for allowing me to grow. Thank you for adding Nuria Marín. Thank you for taking a smart decision," he continued. "I need to continue walking and feel what any worker deserves, to feel valued," he stated, ensuring that Socialité has made it possible. We will have to wait to find out about his next professional projects.
