Kate Middleton's decision in her convalescence: hire a new right hand

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has started the year with a big bump in health. In mid-January, the British royal family announced the news that the wife of the heir to the throne, Prince William, had been hospitalized so she could undergo an abdominal operation. A health setback that was combined with the news that King Charles III was suffering from cancer.

But since the announcement of the surgery, little information has emerged about the state of Kate Middleton's health, generating a state of alarm and uncertainty throughout English society. And little or nothing is known about the reasons that led the doctors to perform that operation or how the recovery is going.

However, everything seems to indicate that Prince William's wife is improving as the days go by and has already left Adelaide Cottage, where she has been hospitalized for thirteen days. Likewise, the Princess of Wales is not expected to return to public office until after Easter.

However, the information about the British royal family does not stop and this Friday, February 23, we learned the news that the Princess of Wales had hired a new right hand. According to The Times, the crown prince and Kate Middleton have appointed Lieutenant Colonel Tom White as the princess's new private secretary. In this way, Prince William's wife once again has someone at her side since the departure of Hannah Cockburn-Logie in October 2022.

According to the aforementioned media, Lieutenant Colonel White, who served in Afghanistan in 2009, was under the orders of the late queen, Elizabeth II, until the day of his death, on September 8, 2022. White came to the family royal in 2020 and immediately became the first Royal Marines commando to hold that position.

For his part, Prince William hired a former Foreign Office diplomat named Ian Patrick as his private secretary in early February. An old acquaintance of the royal family, who accompanied the crown prince and David Cameron, Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom, on a trip to Kuwait in December 2023.
