The professional career of actor José Luis Gil came to a screeching halt more than two years ago. The performer became popularly known for his roles in two of the most legendary series in the history of television: Here there is no one alive and La que se coming. The artist gave life to the unforgettable Juan Cuesta and Enrique Pastor, with whom he made half of Spain laugh for more than two decades.
But his situation took a 180 degree turn in November 2021. The actor suffered an ischemic stroke, which forced him to remain hospitalized in the ICU for several days. Since then, the actor is completely focused on his full recovery, so he had to make the hard decision to put his professional career on hold for a while.
During this time, little information has emerged about him except for the reports about his state of health published by his daughter, Irene Gil, through social networks. ''You ask me about my father, I thank you from the bottom of my soul, feeling so much affection is an honor. It is hard to have to speak on his behalf, I would like him to be able to respond to your messages,' said the young woman.
Furthermore, the actor's own daughter confirmed in a recent interview with Pronto magazine that her father's situation was more complicated than they had thought. ''I don't think my father can go back to television. It was a very severe stroke, which has left him with serious consequences (...) We have spoken with the neurologists, with the rehabilitation center and, although no one tells us that there is nothing to do, they do not suggest that the situation will be fixed.'' , he confessed.
But although his recovery is being slower than expected, the actor's efforts to return to his old self are bearing fruit. Something that has filled the interpreter's loved ones with joy, especially his daughter Irene, who has not hesitated to share the good news through her social networks.
