James Corden brings "The Late Late Show", the final James Corden show to London

London -- James Corden brought "The Late Late Show", his talk show, to London. Corden and his talk show host are back in Corden’s home country of England for the first-ever time in three years. This is just months after Corden announced that he would be leaving the broadcast after eight very successful years.

Corden said to CBS News that it was just time. It's time for me to leave. It's time for you to try something new. It's that. That's it, really. It's time to get out and explore the world and discover if there are other adventures.

Corden would not say if he sees the adventure in the U.S. or closer to home in Britain.

Corden said, "There are so many bigger things in life than my career." Corden stated that it becomes about families, schools, and all of those things. Corden said, "But we are not set on anything." "We haven't decided on anything."

George Cheeks, CBS President and CEO, stated that he wished he could have stayed longer but that he was proud to call CBS home in America and that the partnership would allow him to continue on "The Late Late Show".

Corden will continue to deliver 200 shows under the contract through spring 2019. According to Corden, his eight-year tenure was a blur.

"I don’t know if it will ever be true what we did with this program, how many odds were against us and how we managed to pull it off." He said that it was clear in his mind that the show would air for three months and then be cancelled.

Instead, "The Late Late Show" and its host, who was a comedian and actor at the time, went to great heights. It was largely due to the explosion of the internet.

Corden's "Carpool Karaoke", Corden's signature segment, featuring Adele, holds the YouTube record for most-watched late-night clip with more than 250,000 views.

It's rare that anyone, not even talk show hosts, gets to joyride in a jet with Tom Cruise. This was one of the highlights of this season.

Corden stated that one of his favorite segments was when he joined Paul McCartney on a trip to Liverpool's Beatles neighborhood. He also enjoyed a surprise performance at the local pub.

Corden said that he knew in advance that we might capture something special when they were shooting it. "When I saw the cut and edited of it, I recall turning to Ben [Winston], executive producer of his show, and saying, That's the greatest thing we'll ever do.'

London's shows feature Carpool Karaoke featuring Lizzo, guest appearances by Ed Sheeran and Billie Eilish, as well as Vin Diesel appearing in a segment inside the Oval Office.

Corden described being "completely blown away" by the U.S. president's empathy and compassion upon meeting him. It was amazing."

Although he acknowledged that it would be difficult to leave his British TV show, he stated that he doesn't know how he can keep it interesting.

Corden stated that Corden never wanted this to be a boring job or a 'thing I did'.

He said, "We cannot jump out of another airplane with Tom Cruise or fly with Tom Cruise in a fighter plane or drive down Penny Lane singing Penny Lane with Paul McCartney and shoot Carpool Karaoke together with Adele." "There must be a point. You have to. Make a decision, and then go.
