How to remove yellow stains from the armholes of t-shirts

Sometimes, doing laundry is not as simple as separating clothes by color and fabric, putting them in the washing machine on the appropriate program and that's it. Sometimes we have to deal with particularly complicated stains, which resist and make us look for alternative remedies and rub in the hope of saving the garment. This is the case, for example, of grease stains, blood stains, grass stains...

But we're not just talking about marks caused by food or other substances that end up on clothing by accident. It also happens that the habitual use of a garment gives rise to recurring stains in conflictive areas that cause us a headache. Because they can even lead to us having to throw away a t-shirt that we were especially fond of.

We are talking about stains that appear on the armholes of t-shirts, shirts and sweatshirts, whether made of cotton, linen, poplin or other fabrics. These stains usually appear due to sweat, contact with deodorant or simply from the wear of the garment in the armpit area where there is constant friction. Generally, these stains do not disappear in the washing machine and, therefore, you have to find a formula with which to eradicate them.

This trick has gone viral on social networks given its effectiveness. It was Bithia Domínguez who, under the alias @missmalabares on Instagram – where she has 247 thousand followers – has shared her secret to saying goodbye to stains on the armholes of clothes. As is often the case in beauty, the key to the success of this formula is baking soda, a stain-removing ally with endless uses.

You will need to mix three tablespoons of baking soda, three tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide, squeeze the juice of half a lemon and two tablespoons of dish soap. You will see how it immediately begins to foam due to the reaction between all the elements. Mix well until you get the consistency of a uniform paste.

Next, apply the mixture to the stain with the help of a spoon. Then, use a soft-bristled toothbrush to scrub carefully, avoiding damaging the fibers of the garment. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes and then rinse it with warm water. Finally, put it in the washing machine and wash it as you normally would.

Of course, Bithia Domínguez herself warns that on some garments you will have to repeat the process when the stains are especially resistant. But he assures that it works and this is reinforced by the more than 150,000 likes that his post accumulates.
