HBO Max sets release date for the third season of 'Hacks'

The comedy about comedy is about to return. HBO Max has just set a premiere date for the third season of Hacks, the award-winning creation of Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky about an iconic American comedian and stand-up comedian, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), who is in low hours with his shady show in Las Vegas, and the complicated relationship of complicity with Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder), a screenwriter banished from Hollywood before starting her career.

From the content platform they report that, "a year after their separation, Deborah Vance is riding the crest of a wave due to the success of her stand-up special, while Ava is looking for new opportunities in Los Angeles." And, as the images from the season's trailer show, it is impossible to guess what kind of relationship will be established between the two perspectives of the comedy: the old school and the new.

Hacks is one of HBO Max's assets in the field of comedy: Jean Smart has two Emmy Awards for best actress for the two seasons and the initial season also won statuettes for best direction and best script, out of a total of six.

With its premiere this coming May 2, it is already running as one of the favorites to monopolize the comedy nominations in the next edition of the Emmy Awards. HBO Max has already announced that it will arrive with two episodes and then two new episodes will be broadcast each week, ending on May 30 with the ninth installment.
