General discontent with RTVE after the controversial premiere of 'MasterChef 12': "It's a shame"

The MasterChef stoves have been lit again for another season with the twelfth edition. After sweeping the Celebrity and Junior versions, the program has returned to its original essence with a season full of emotions, challenges and, of course, exquisite gastronomic creations.

The premiere of this new season has not been without emotion, since 50 candidates have gathered in an exciting and decisive final casting. In front of them, the renowned MasterChef jury, together with the renowned chef Marcos Morán, has been in charge of rigorously and precisely evaluating the skills of the contestants.

Finally, only 16 contestants have managed to win over the members of the jury. Among them are a heavy metal lover, a flat-earther legionnaire, a Moroccan who refuses to do Ramadan, a businesswoman who worked with Elsa Pataki and Chris Hemsworth or Mónica Naranjo's guitarist.

However, the opening night was not free from controversy. Social networks have become the scene of discontent among the program's followers, who have expressed their frustration with the broadcast schedules of the contest.

The start of the program, after 10:40 p.m., and its extension until the early hours of the morning, have generated a large number of complaints. Although this is not new, since it is something that has been repeated in the last editions of the contest.

In this sense, a user has assured that "with this schedule only those who get up at 12 noon tomorrow will see it" and, if no one takes action, it will be an "absolute lack of respect for their viewers." Another has pointed out that the schedule "again" is not "normal."

In parallel, some have complained that "far from bringing forward the start" of the program so that it does not end so late, they have delayed it "out of prime time and almost to late night." For this reason they have agreed that "public television must do things better."

But this has not been the only topic of controversy. Other viewers have expressed the opinion that Masterchef has long lost its essence. That is to say, personal stories and striking and controversial profiles have overtaken culinary qualities.
