Frank Cuesta does not win for disappointment. A few weeks ago, the naturalist content creator went viral after receiving a severe blow from a deer that lives in his Sanctuary in Thailand.
A bad move by the content creator scared the animal, which is why it got nervous and did not hesitate to attack him and charge him with his horns while he cornered him against a rock. ''Nature is very beautiful, but it is hard, it is unfair, it is screwed up sometimes," Cuesta explained later in a YouTube video while he was grateful that he had no more physical consequences than some scratches and wounds.
The activist suffered this attack while broadcasting live on his Twitch channel, so the images of the accident did not take long to go viral on social networks. Thousands of people commented on the scene with horror and despair, but the subsequent testimony of the digital creator calmed the waters.
When we thought that Frank had changed his attitude and was being more careful with his daily tasks, he has shown us that he works in an unpredictable profession and that risk and danger are part of his routine.
After several days 'disappeared' from the online world, Cuesta reappeared yesterday with a message that left the audience in shock: ''Forgive me for not responding to so many subnormal things these last three days... they were trying to take me to the other neighborhood ... but it seems that at the moment... NO!!!''
The man later uploaded an explanatory video in which he explained that he had spent several days in a hospital very sick: ''I could have perfectly died in a silent way (...) They had to clean the blood from me, everything. I have had massive poisoning with a brutal infection in the kidneys, the liver, the very swollen spleen...''.
The television presenter narrated in the piece that everything happened when, a few days ago, he was cleaning an area of the shelter inhabited by dart frogs that had been there for a long time. Since they were born in captivity, Cuesta thought that they did not have poison (this is generated mainly from food): ''I didn't expect that there were red ants, spiders... and these frogs had to be eating. When I manipulated them thinking that they would not have the poison... that night I started to feel bad, a lot of fever (...)''.
Cuesta acknowledged in the video that he fainted and woke up hours later, at which point he realized that something serious was happening: ''I went into a very strange kind of coma (when he arrived at the hospital). They were cleaning me all night (...) It has been two fucking days, I had never felt that sensation before.''
Throughout the video, Frank reflects on the importance of going to the doctor when you are not feeling well, especially if you work in natural and sometimes hostile environments like he does. For this reason, he feels very relieved to have found the strength to go to the hospital.
This experience has helped Cuesta realize that he needs people working with him 'full time': ''I need people to be here at the shelter (...) I created this sanctuary to give freedom to animals, to give them a life and I have realized that I have no life and that there is no one who can continue with this if something happens to me.''
