Being nominated in Survivors 2024 means being a nervous wreck for an entire week full of challenges, voting, colleagues who get on your nerves, and long days, practically food to put in your mouth. For this reason, the duel between Gorka Ibarguren, Claudia Martínez and Pedro García Aguado promised to be one of the closest of the edition.
Finally, the audience decided that Claudia would be the one to put an end to their adventure definitively. An expulsion perhaps in time, since hours before she was evacuated by medical prescription while awaiting the results that would determine her continuity in the contest.
As soon as she learned of the audience's decision, the first to show her joy was Claudia herself, who hugged Pedro García Aguado to congratulate him, since the former athlete had made it clear that he wanted to remain in the contest for another week.
The rest of the contestants showed the same joy as the influencer for the salvation of García Aguado, continuing to encourage him with smiles that he had gained the support of the public to remain in Honduras for another week. Despite everything, Claudia received support from colleagues like Aurah Ruiz or Arantxa del Sol.
Before leaving the Palapa, however, it was Laura Madrueño who "said goodbye" with the words that Claudia Martínez had not been able to say. "She has asked to be expelled from it because it didn't seem fair to her to be out of here," Madrueño explained to her colleagues. "It's a very generous gesture on her part."
Claudia had requested her expulsion hours before, knowing that her prognosis was unfavorable and she knew that the doctors were not going to authorize her return to the competition. What's more, her suspicions were confirmed shortly after, when the presenter announced that the specialists had already made a decision regarding her continuity.
The contestant did not hesitate, and asked that everyone be aware of the medical team's decision. Thus, it was Jorge Javier Vázquez himself who read the report sent from Honduras on set.
"Claudia has improved from her gastric problem that forced her evacuation from the beach although the result of the serological test is positive, which requires her to complete her study and begin specific treatment for her condition in Spain," he read, along that from Honduras, Madrueño clarified that "if you had not been expelled, you would have had to abandon the contest anyway."
