David Cantero speaks loud and clear about his change of shift at 'Informativos Telecinco': ''It takes getting used to''

David Cantero has opened up like never before about his new stage in the weekend edition of Informativos Telecinco. At the end of 2023, the legendary presenter of the network's news programs, Pedro Piqueras, said goodbye to the small screen after more than 50 years of professional career.

''I've been doing it for 34 years. I started at TVE, then at Antena 3, but this is where I have been the longest. The truth is that I am very sad to leave it, but it is a decision I made a long time ago, about two years ago,'' the journalist reported a few months ago. After learning of his decision, the audiovisual group had to adapt to this sudden change and find his replacement as quickly as possible.

A mission that turned out to be easier than expected, since days later, Mediaset announced Carlos Franganillo as the new presenter of the space. A signing that completely revolutionized the news team and with which there were novel changes.

And the board of directors of the audiovisual group decided to release a much more modern set and a new graphic line. In addition, they also decided to make changes among their presenters. Carlos Franganillo became the head of the 9:00 p.m. edition; Isabel Jiménez and Ángeles Blanco were chosen to host the midday edition; and David Cantero, Pepe Ribagorda and Leticia Iglesias had to move to the weekend editions. Now, months after the change, David Cantero wanted to open up about his new job in the weekend edition.

He did it through his social networks, where he shared a publication with a forceful reflection. ''Today, after more than three months, I have given myself the pleasure of sitting down to work again in front of what was my desk for 13 years, of typing again on the computer that I always used from the first day until the ' forced 'divorce' and the forced change of shift... 'My table', one of the many things that were left behind...'' he began by saying.

Likewise, the presenter assured that "it was strange to change positions after so much time." ''It takes getting used to, but it's good to know that nothing belongs to us, that nothing lasts forever... ''Oh! the divorces '', as this song says... But at last I am delighted with the weekend team and I will wait for you at 3 and 9 pm on this holy and rainy Saturday... '', he concluded.
