Criticism of Roberto Canessa, survivor of the tragedy in the Andes, for inappropriately touching a young woman at an event

If there is a film that has marked the course of this year in Spanish cinema, it has been The Snow Society. The production of J.A. Bayona won the Goya Awards as the most awarded, achieving up to twelve awards. The production is based on real events, specifically on the Andes tragedy, which occurred in 1972, when Flight 571 of the Uruguayan Air Force crashed in the mountain range. The story focuses on the battle to stay alive for the 16 survivors. One of them in reality was Roberto Canessa, who is in the media spotlight due to a controversy.

Canessa attended a conference held in Mexico on April 10, specifically in Torreón, Coahuila. This act developed a series of activities that the survivor carried out together with different personalities. However, Roberto was captured on a video with an attitude that social networks did not like at all and has generated a strong controversy.

In the images, which only last a few seconds, you can see a young woman approaching him to take a photo. However, when doing so, Roberto Canessa is seen touching her butt, which outraged social networks. The video was captured by another woman who was among the spectators in the auditorium.

Precisely, this Internet user claimed to be very disappointed with Canessa, since she assured that there were several women who made gestures of this type. "More than inspired, I was disappointed in this man who, when taking the photo, grabbed all the girls (obviously I didn't get on it)," wrote the woman who recorded the video.

As expected, this clip has made the rounds on social networks, and many have expressed disappointment in the survivor's attitude. "Well, they are famous for grabbing human flesh and eating it," can be read in a comment on Disgusting. You have to be a shitty person to do this," said another Internet user.

After what happened, some feminist groups demanded a statement clarifying the situation and in which Roberto apologized to the women he touched inappropriately. We will have to wait to find out what happens in the end, but for the moment the controversy on social networks is more than served.
