Controversy with Calamaro when singing "vote you, Txapote" in the middle of a concert

Andrés Calamaro is one of the most popular singer-songwriters in the music industry. The Argentine is currently immersed in his new concert tour, with which he has been touring various cities in Spain since May 13 and which will conclude on September 16 in Mérida.

His most recent stop has been at the Mar Abierto Festival in Tenerife, where the composer delighted all the attendees with many of his greatest musical hits such as Media verónica, Sin documentos, Bohemio or La flaca. An unprecedented show, in which many of the singer's followers were able to enjoy a night filled with many emotions.

But although all the Argentine fans were able to enjoy the artist's voice live, his musical performances were not the stars of the night. Calamaro took all eyes by starring in a moment that has not gone unnoticed on social networks.

At one point in the night, the Argentine artist began to sing one of his most famous songs, La Flaca. The surprise came when the singer-songwriter surprised by inserting the controversial chant "I vote for you Txapote" in the middle of the lyrics in front of the thousands of followers who were in the venue.

The origin of the famous phrase dates back to last September when it was seen on a banner at a meeting of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party in Seville. From that moment on, it became a slogan related to the right-wing bloc against the PSOE, which we have seen on numerous occasions in the last electoral campaign.

The phrase, which has grabbed numerous headlines and which has divided the victims of terrorism, refers to Javier García Gaztelu, alias Txapote, an ETA terrorist who was convicted of the murder of several Basque politicians. Many of the singer's followers, who did not hesitate to record the moment and upload it to social networks, were left speechless and interpreted the words as a political message. The organizers of the festival have not wanted to make statements in this regard and only wanted to praise the great show that the Argentine gave.
