Last Friday one of the most special days for the Campos family took place: the great tribute to the figure of María Teresa. Terelu Campos, as presenter, and Carmen Borrego, as director, led a special program on RTVE, where family and close friends of the deceased presenter came together to remember her.
An emotional day, but at the same time hard, since it has only been four months since her daughters said goodbye to their mother. Something that Borrego herself wanted to talk about in her new exclusive for Lecturas magazine, where she has also shown the house that she has inherited from the communicator.
Since the summer, the presenter's daughter has not returned to the house that María Teresa Campos was in charge of furnishing with so much love fifteen years ago, a true refuge for the journalist. "Coming back here has been difficult, there are many things about her," she revealed in the aforementioned magazine. And the last time she saw her, her mother was already "very sick", and she herself was clear that she was not going to return to the place.
A very spacious house with stunning views. So much so, that Carmen Borrego assures that depending on where you sit "it seems like you are on a boat." Even so, and despite the love he has for this home, the pain over the death of his mother surpasses everything.
"There are still many things about her here. She is always there. I always have her very close, I talk to her whenever I can," he expressed. And if one thing is clear, it is that, despite the fact that both she and her sister have inherited that place, she "will always be" her mother's.
Among other things, it is a home that brings back very good memories, especially the communicator's room. "My mother was very funny, she said: 'My room is for me and for the couple', which was José Carlos and me. She has always respected herself."
Likewise, he wanted to talk about what his mother's absence at Christmas meant. For Carmen, it has been a very hard blow. "She has been devastating. I can't speak, it's too soon. She has cost me my life," she revealed through tears. Even so, she has decided not to receive psychological help: "After her death I have been on the edge of the precipice."
But if anything has been especially difficult for her, it has been New Year's Eve. Although they always celebrated it at María Teresa's house, a few years ago it was held at Terelu's house. Even so, this year they decided to do it separately. "I didn't eat the grapes because I couldn't even swallow. I tried for my husband, for my daughter, but it was impossible," she revealed.
