Actor Michael Stuhlbarg, known for his performances in Boardwalk Empire or Call Me By Your Name, was minorly injured when he received a rock in the head, thrown at him by a homeless man in New York's Central Park, according to local media.

The incident, recorded yesterday Sunday, occurred shortly before eight p.m. local time (20:00 GMT). The 55-year-old interpreter ran after his alleged attacker, identified as Xavier Israel, according to the American network ABC.

Two police officers later detained Israel, 27, who has a history of previous arrests for minor crimes, according to this same media. The young man has been charged with serious assault.

Stuhlbarg, also known for his participation in The Staircase and The Shape of Water, among other series and films, suffered a small bruise on the back of his head, but refused medical assistance.
