Actress Anna Strasberg, heir to Marilyn Monroe's entire fortune, dies at 84

The world of acting is once again in mourning. This Tuesday we learned the sad news of the death of actress Anna Strasberg at the age of 84, as revealed in a statement by the Theater school.

''Anna ensured that the Institute became a beacon for aspiring actors, and remains a beloved space for artistic exploration and growth. 'Her lifelong commitment to The Method and her unwavering devotion to the Institute have left an indelible mark on the world of acting and the countless talented people she inspired,' the statement said.

''His presence will be greatly missed, but his legacy lives on through the method and each class of passionate students. In this time of sadness, our hearts go out to Anna's family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched,' the statement concludes.

The artistic director of the theater school became popularly known for inheriting much of Marilyn Monroe's estate, although she never met the actress personally. And Anna Strasberg was the third wife of the popular theater professor, known for having trained cinema eminences such as James Dean, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.

This is how Lee Strasberg met Marilyn Monroe, becoming one of the great pillars in his life, since the actress had no family or close friends. After going through several foster homes, the famous actress met Strasberg and his second wife, Paula, and both became her acting teachers.

The bond between them was forged over time and Monroe became another member of the family. Therefore, after the death of the actress on August 4, 1962, at only 36 years old, much of her fortune was inherited by Lee Strasberg.

The teacher and his wife inherited 75% of his assets, made up of intellectual property rights, various sums of money belonging to his income from his films, clothing and jewelry. The remaining 25% fell into the hands of his psychoanalyst, Dr. Marianne Kris, and after her death, the legacy went to the Anna Freud Center for the Study and Psychoanalytic Treatment of Children in London.

A year after the death of his second wife, in 1967, the renowned professor married the young Venezuelan actress Anna Mizrahi. But after the death of her husband in February 1982 due to a heart attack, Anna inherited her entire estate belonging to Marilyn Monroe.
