A famous actress among the candidates to represent Spain in Eurovision 2024

Angy Fernández, singer and actress known for her outstanding participation in 'X Factor' and the series 'Física o Química', has finally decided to fight for her desire to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest. Despite having initially expressed her intention to participate in the Benidorm Fest in 2023, Angy Fernández chose not to appear in that edition. However, at the Benidorm Fest 2024, the artist has been chosen as one of the 16 contestants who will compete for the coveted bronze microphone.

Angy Fernández's fame skyrocketed in 2007 when she participated in the first edition of 'Factor X Spain'. Although she was one of the favorites in the talent show, she ultimately came in second position, right behind María Villalón. Her participation in 'X Factor' led her to give her first live concerts and to release her debut album Angy.

Throughout her more than 15 years of musical career, Angy has demonstrated her artistic versatility. In March of this year, she surprised her fans with the release of Dualidad, a song that explores the complex decisions she has had to make throughout her career in music. The song also addresses the duality that exists in her life, between her role as an actress and a singer.

In addition to her success in music, Angy Fernández became known for her role in the series 'Física o Química', where she played Paula Blasco. The singer also contributed to the series' soundtrack with the album FoQ, which marked her second recording effort. After the series, Angy embarked on a successful career as an actress and singer, releasing her third studio album of her own songs.

In 2012, Angy made her film debut with the film Ali, starring Nadia de Santiago. Her performance earned her a nomination for Best New Actress at the Goya Awards. In 2016, she joined the hit musical La Llamada, where she played Susana Romero, and later, the play made the leap to the big screen.

With a prominent presence on social media and followers on platforms such as Spotify, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok, Angy Fernández is an influential figure in Spain's art and music scene. In 2021, Angy Fernández starred in the series Yrreal, an RTVE production in collaboration with MoA Studio. The series tells the story of two young women in search of answers about the disappearance of the sister of one of them and the investigation of a sexist murder.

Benidorm Fest 2024 is already underway, and Angy Fernández joins the 16 artists selected to compete in the contest. The festival's semifinals will take place on January 30 and February 1, and the grand final will be held on February 3. The four artists with the most votes from each semifinal will advance to the final, where eight songs will compete for the bronze microphone and the opportunity to represent Spain at the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden.
