The most popular dating show on the small screen reopened its doors one more night. This Wednesday, Carlos Sobera and Laura Boado received several single couples in their sophisticated restaurant, who had decided to attend First Dates with the intention of spending an unparalleled evening.
One of the couples of the night was the one formed by Baldomero and Pilar. The 65-year-old Sevillian bachelor arrived at the place confessing to feeling very alone since the death of his wife. Now, he had given up on appearing on the show to find love again. ''I like almost all women,'' he said.
His date was going to be Pilar, a 62-year-old Andalusian single, who considered herself a hard-working, fun and sociable person. One of her great hobbies was motorcycles. ''I have always been a biker until my husband died. We have always had motorcycles,' she declared.
The first impression of both was very different. While Baldomero seemed delighted with her date, Pilar seemed totally disappointed in him. ''She surprised me, she didn't expect her like this,'' he said. ''She has made a good impression on me, but perhaps she is not what I expected. "He is not my prototype of a man," she asserted. After exchanging their first words, Laura Boado accompanied the couple to her table where the evening began.
The singles started the dinner talking about their previous relationships and all the time they had been without a partner. ''I like a young and modern person, inside and out. Her way of dressing is classic to me,'' she said. Moments later, the bachelor discovered that the bachelorette was three years younger than him. ''Very young, she is physically very well. Very elegant and very pretty,' she commented.
And Baldomero said that he did not give much importance to age, since the only thing that mattered to him was getting along with people. ''You've impressed me,'' he told Pilar. But suddenly, their first differences began to emerge. One of the clearest was dancing. Pilar was a great fan, while Baldomero was not enthusiastic about it. ''I think we are on very different paths,'' she declared.
At one point during the evening, Baldomero and Pilar asked each other different questions about relationships. The bachelor seemed very happy to be having dinner with Pilar and couldn't stop praising her face and her charisma. But suddenly, Baldomero tried to joke with the single woman by launching a curious proposal. ''When did we get married?'' she asked, laughing. ''What a scare. What are you saying? My God... It's no use being scary so I'm going to get out," she declared. ''How funny,'' the bachelor said between laughs. ''This is not going anywhere,'' she asserted.
In the final stretch of the dinner, the singles continued to be at very different points. Such was the difference that Baldomero proposed to Pilar to return to her house together and she rejected the proposal forcefully. Therefore, in the final decision, the single woman rejected the bachelor because she was looking for someone very different.
