They warn of a defect in the front passenger airbag of several Subaru car models

The General Directorate of Consumer Affairs of the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030 has warned of a defect in the front passenger airbag of several models of the Japanese brand Subaru. Specifically, the affected vehicles are Forester, Outback, Impreza and WRX STI.

The ministry, according to FACUA-Consumers in Action, warns of the risk of injuries for passengers of these models and advises contacting the brand, if you are one of those affected.

Specifically, it is the Takata Like-for-Like airbag, which must be replaced with TRW as soon as possible, because its risk of explosion increases over the years, affecting the passenger's front airbag, says this organization through a statement.

This notification has been issued and included in the alert network of the General Directorate of Consumer Affairs, a page that offers information on the safety of non-food consumer products and services.

For its part, Subaru Spain has notified the Madrid consumer authorities of the problem with the vehicle and the measures it has voluntarily adopted. In this sense, the manufacturer recommends contacting the owners of the affected vehicles to replace the passenger airbag.

Furthermore, the Japanese company has also reported the problem and the possibility of reviewing the affected vehicles on its website.

It is not the first time that Subaru has warned of a problem of this type. In 2019, the manufacturer also recalled 2.27 million cars sold in both the Asian market and the rest of the world due to a problem with the brake lights.
