The TecnoCampus of Mataró will host the Annual Congress of the EuroLeague Players' Association

The TecnoCampus of Mataró will host the EuroLeague Players' Association (ELPA) Performance International Congress (EPIC) on May 10. This association represents the interests of basketball players in the first European competition, the Euroleague, and offers them advice on both sporting and non-sporting aspects.

The EPIC has become a reference event for sharing knowledge and innovative solutions in areas such as training, injury prevention, recovery, rehabilitation, performance management, psychology and nutrition.

The celebration of the congress is the result of the collaboration between ELPA and TecnoCampus.

The signing of the collaboration agreement took place between Bostjan Nachbar, general director of ELPA, Josep Lluís Checa López, general director of TecnoCampus, and Beatriz Delgado Castro, councilor of Education, Vocational Training, University and Sports of Mataró.

The general director of TecnoCampus, Josep Lluís Checa López, highlights that “as a center attached to the Pompeu Fabra University, we are decisively committed to sports through the degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and all postgraduate training related to this area.” In this sense, he considers that the agreement with the EuroLeague Players' Association to hold the EuroLeague Performance International Congress at TecnoCampus “places us on the map of relevant events related to sports, and specifically to basketball.”

The Councilor for Education, Vocational Training, University and Sports, Beatriz Delgado Castro, has expressed herself in similar terms: “Mataró is committed to sports, and the fact that the city can host an event of this international relevance is a source of pride, since which demonstrates the work that is being carried out at the municipal level and, especially, from the TecnoCampus, in this area.”

“We are delighted that EPIC 2024 will be held at the TecnoCampus in Mataró,” said Bostjan Nachbar. “At ELPA we strive to connect with like-minded organizations, and we couldn't think of a better partner. Their facilities are incredible and their location convenient. offers an opportunity for both Barcelonans and foreigners to attend an event focused on the sporting performance of elite basketball players. As in previous years." The general director of ELPA highlights that the EPIC congress will be the space where the latest ideas and approaches with the rest of the basketball performance world.

This was already the case in the last edition held in Italy, in which the members of the ELPA Performance Advisory Council presented innovative solutions that positively impact the performance of professional basketball players. The goal of EPIC is to share professional knowledge with players, teams and performance professionals who work closely with athletes.
