The price of electricity drops 7%, to 96.57 euros

MADRID, 30 (SERVIMEDIA)

The average price of electricity in the wholesale market fell 7% this Friday, standing at 96.57 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) compared to 103.83 euros yesterday. With this, it breaks with three days above 100 euros per MWh.

According to the latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE) collected by Servimedia, the gas cap is still not applied, as it has been since February 27, as its price fell below the limit set by the Iberian exception, which in June is 58.30 euros.

The 96.57 euros per MWh represent a drop of 12.5% ​​compared to the 110.36 euros of Friday of last week and an increase of 4.4% over the 92.53 euros of a month ago, on the 30th of May.

Also, in year-on-year comparison, this Friday there was a 52.4% reduction in price since on June 30 of last year the price was 202.73 euros per MWh.
