The Burning Man festival is one of the most iconic in the United States, especially for its incredible images of huge burning wooden figures that this year have degenerated until they became practically apocalyptic with a huge traffic jam that has had very serious consequences.

The show ended with a huge congestion of cars, as the participants wanted to leave the Nevada desert and reach the city but all the alternatives were occupied due to the heavy rains that forced the closure of the exit highways and the airport most nearby.

What was originally a place of celebration and wild partying has soon become a test of survival in the middle of the hostile Nevada desert, with people conserving water and trying to survive in such a complicated environment.

One person has died during the attempted escape from the festival, where 64,000 people remained at the festival site as of Monday afternoon, according to organizers.

Torrential rains overnight on Friday and Saturday turned the area into a quagmire and, as a result, since Friday, hundreds of vehicles, including many heavy caravans, have been stranded in the desert.

Burning Man takes place each year on a dry lake in the Nevada desert, where a "temporary city" is built, accessible via a two-lane highway.
