The PowerCo gigafactory enters discount time with the approval, yesterday, of the Parc Sagunt II Integrated Action Project (PAI), which will allow the development and urbanization of the entire business park.
The Territorial Urban Planning Commission of Valencia, dependent on the Department of Territorial Policy directed by Rebeca Torró, has approved this urban figure that makes it possible to prepare this area of industrial and logistics land for the installation of the gigafactory for the manufacture of battery cells for electric vehicles , as well as for other companies that want to locate in the area.
The PAI, an integrated action program that is carried out by direct management, covers an available land area of 3,489,398 square meters and is promoted by the company that manages the business park, Espais Económics Empresarials SL, a wholly public capital company, in which 50% by the Generalitat Valenciana and by SEPIDES (SEPI Desarrollo Empresarial SA, SME).
The Ministry of Territorial Policy explains that with this urban instrument it will be possible to completely urbanize the Parc Sagunt execution unit, and to execute the works of connection and adequate integration of the urbanization with the road and mobility network, and with the existing infrastructure networks, as well as supplement the existing infrastructures in terms of the communications network and the energy network. It also makes it possible, they detail, to award plots for industrial and tertiary use in accordance with the Reparcelling Project that includes the PAI.
The approval of the PAI and the prior declaration of the gigafactory as a Strategic Territorial Project (PTE) by the Consell are part of the administrative procedure for the development of the gigafactory.
