Sometimes the design of motorcycles can become a limitation for users with a certain size, since the fixed height is not always suitable for everyone. Without a comfortable and ergonomic driving position, it is difficult to fully enjoy the kilometers at the controls of a two-wheeled mount.
In this sense, it must be borne in mind that users of less than average height often encounter certain inconveniences when it comes to finding models that suit their height properly. With the aim of solving this problem, the Athena was born, an electric motorcycle with a futuristic aesthetic that is capable of changing its shape to suit the size of each pilot.
This proposal is the result of the work of the industrial designer Zhengxuan Xie, of Chinese origin. To carry out the design of this showy motorcycle and decide its shapes and dimensions, Xie has had the participation of people of different heights, including some especially short stature. In this way, he ensures that the vast majority of users could drive this vehicle.
In an attempt to show the inner strength of the Athena, its creator has conceived a design with translucent parts that expose some components of this striking electric motorcycle. According to its designer, "the translucent material allows users to feel the force of the vehicle's outer contour from a distance and, when they get closer to it, see its mechanical structure."
One of the most interesting features of this electric proposal is its ability to move the seat section according to the driver's needs. And it is that its position can move automatically so that the pilot can get on or off the motorcycle easily. In addition, the seat is removable and allows to have an individual version and another designed for two seats and use them interchangeably.
The digital field of vision is a remarkable element in the Athena. It is worth noting, for example, the presence of a graphic animation in the tank area associated with the operation of the Start/Stop system. Also striking is the representation of low and high speeds in blue and red lighting tones, respectively.
Regarding the technical specifications, the vehicle integrates a 17.7 kWh battery and a 130 kW electric motor capable of offering a maximum torque of 850 Nm. With the issue of height resolved for most drivers thanks to its design, the weight of the vehicle remains to be known, which has not yet been made public.
It should be noted that, for now, the Athena is a project, and it is unknown if one day it will become a model that circulates on the streets. In any case, there is no doubt that it offers a spectacular design as well as a good number of ideas and solutions that can be useful for the motorcycles of the future.
