The field of electric bicycles has not stopped evolving in recent years, which has generated the appearance of a legion of models designed to adapt to the needs of each cyclist. For many users, the budget to allocate in their vehicle plays a fundamental role when deciding.
However, for some cyclists, quality, performance and exclusivity rank as high priorities ahead of even a significant outlay. The fantastic electric mountain-bike that you can see in the photographs is aimed at this second group. To get an idea, we must consider that only 100 units will be manufactured.
This is the new Sonic Evo EN SL Daytona, whose update lands as one of the latest creations of the Bulls Bikes firm. This German manufacturer of high-end bicycles has a relatively recent history compared to the historical ones in the sector, since it was born in 1995. It was not until 2007 that the brand really stepped forward by creating Team Bulls, its first-level professional sports division.
As it is one of the firm's flagships, the Daytona is a true showcase of all the best that Bulls Bikes can offer in its proposals. The frame, which is made of carbon fiber, is distinguished by a robust and elegant design at the same time, as well as the integrated battery for the electrical system.
The bike integrates inverted front fork, large brakes and a 12-speed transmission. All electronic components are Shimano. Starting with the fork, it should be noted that it is an Intend Edge that provides 160 mm of travel. At the rear, a suspension from the same Intend brand provides 150 mm of travel and has a Hover Gamechanger shock.
This whole set is designed to obtain great results in intense offroad use, including descent and enduro. But not only that, because you also get greater dynamic smoothness, a customizable response and qualities that go beyond amateur cycling to even be able to enter the world of competition with guarantees.
The rest of the equipment is also among the best on the market. The 12-speed transmission is SRAM and integrates an Eagle 10-52T cassette. Shifting, meanwhile, is handled wirelessly via an AXS Rocker shifter and an Eagle AXS front derailleur. The brakes, model DH-R Evo, are from the manufacturer TRP.
Continuing with the braking system, at the front the disc is 220 mm, while at the rear it is 203 mm. The Shimano motor that provides electrical assistance is capable of delivering 85 Nm of maximum torque and can take the vehicle up to 25 km/h (with assistance), as established by the legal maximum in the European Union. Said motor is powered by a 750 Wh V10 Light Core 725 battery.
