The plenary session of the Consell will dismiss this Friday Aurelio Martínez as president of the Port Authority of Valencia, a decision that occurs "at his own request", according to Cadena Ser this Friday. The current regional secretary for the European Union and External Relations, Joan Calabuig, will be the next president of the Port Authority of Valencia.
Aurelio Martínez is a Doctor in Economic and Business Sciences from the University of Valencia and Professor of Applied Economics and has held various positions of political responsibility. In 1991 he was appointed director of the Department of Economy of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government and, later, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Generalitat Valenciana, in addition to having been president of the Valencian Institute of Finance.
